Can you believe 2021 is here? Well, lla llego! With a new year came a new administration and that means calmness, positivity and progression for our community.
How is it going so far?
Well, to start, El Tio César made an appearance in the Oval office – replacing Andrew Jackson’s painting. It was widely talked about on The Hill that César Chavez dropped the mic in the first week of Biden’s inauguration, by making an appearance. Woop Woop!

Why?
“It was important for President Biden to walk into an Oval that looked like America and started to show the landscape of who he is going to be as president,” Deputy Director of Oval Office Operations Ashley Williams
Y la Prima?
It looks like Biden is grateful to the Chavez family, it seems that Cesar Chavez’s granddaughter – Julie Chavez Rodriguez – became the highest ranking latina on his campaign team and became the White House Deputy Director of Public Engagement.
This is a moment to be proud as there are many before us that fought hard for equality and made their mark!
